Things to do on rainy days in London

Unfortunately, it is quite likely that during your stay in London you will encounter some British weather, namely rain and rain and rain. Therefore, I made a list of things to give you a chance of discovering some highlights of the city even if it is all wet outside.

But first things first: definitely take a waterproof backpack, an umbrella and a waterproof jacket with you!

MUSEUMS

One thing that is truly made for rainy days are the many museums spread across the city. Best thing about it: plenty of them are free to visit. In here you will have a warm environment, toilets, wifi and the possibility to get food and drinks. Apart rom that, enjoy the pieces of art, marvel at the dinosaurs, learn about new scientiific methods and get into design!

Read my post about London's museums to find an even bigger variety!

SHOPPING

A great thing to do when t is raining is actually shopping! There is a large number of London- and UK-based stores all over the city. Even if you are not planning on buying something everywhere it is nice to see the teas, furniture and other little treauries.

In fact, the area of Covent Garden and even Camden Market (at least partially) have a roof, so that you don`'t even have to be bothered by the rain on your discovery tours through the stalls.

VIEW POINTS

Plenty of London's views can actually also be enjoyed when it is raining. Whether you are going up the London Eye, booked a slot for the Skygarden or want to cross the walkways of Tower Bridge, all of these can also be done when it is raining. The only thing is that with a cloudy sky the photos migh tnot look as good and the you probably won't be able to look ar far. Still, free roof tops, like the Skygarden, are a fantastic option.
